Nominated Neighbour
This initiative was developed to help defeat 'Bogus Caller' crime by arranging for a close and trusted neighbour to validate any unexpected caller at a vulnerable persons home.
The pack consists of two information leaflets and a laminated card; one leaflet describes, to the Nominated Neighbour, how the system works, i.e. they will be expected to check the identity of the caller when he/she is directed to their house, and if satisfied, escort them back into the home and stay with the vulnerable person.
The second leaflet explains to the vulnerable person how to direct the caller to the nominated neighbour, and they then pass to the caller. The card, when passed to the caller, directs them to the nominated neighbour by having the address/ house number plainly written on it.
This scheme is also free to any vulnerable person living in Lincolnshire and is obtained in the same way as the Message in a Bottle.
